Mixon moved to San Diego in 1917. He discusses the Great Depression in San Diego, cowboying in Julian, working on a city hog farm, San Diego River floods, strikebreaking during the longshoremans' strike on Pier One, and joining the Laborers Union in 1936. This is an oral history in the collection of the San Diego State University Special Collections and University Archives, digitized by the California Audiovisual Preservation Project (CAVPP).
