Johnson was a co-owner of National Quarries, one of the largest quarries in California at the time. He discusses his Scandinavian family history and that of other quarry workers. He also talks about the different varieties of granite, the process for making granite marketable, and the general granite industry in San Diego. This oral history was digitized by the California Audiovisual Preservation Project (CAVPP). This oral history was created for an oral history class.
