Blake was the owner of the Pyramid Granite Company in Escondido, California. He was interviewed about the granite industry in San Diego County. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1900, he came to San Diego in 1920. He was looking for another job in 1944 and became a partner with his brother-in-law Phil Johnson, a quarryman in Riverside County. He says the area has "considerable granite." In 2017, Blake's company is known as Pyramid Granite & Metals, Incorporated. The interviewer and Blake go into details of the technology of cutting granite, the saws and abrasives used, etc.
