As the crowd of marchers goes by, an unidentified protester stops to show his sign. It reads, "Bomb Nixon not Amchitka." The "x" in President Richard Nixon's name is replaced by a swastika as a comment on his politics. Amchitka is an island in the Aleutian group in southwest Alaska that was used from 1969 to 1971 for underground nuclear testing. An elaborate sign is at the top of the photograph.
