This colorful map uses Nahuatl notation and logograms or rebuses, probably to indicate names. The Spanish writing appears to be an attempt to reproduce the Nahuatl words for the pictographs. The word "coltepetl" is written clearly above the mountain, with the head of a bird next to it.
