Adams, John R.
Art: Chi-yen, Shih
The card was "sold for the benefit of the War Orphans." Sent by John Adams to Arthur Miller, it was returned after several attempts to deliver it. Adams admits he was "not entirely happy with what [Miller] had to say," but must send "a token response" because he cannot write as he would like "for silly reasons [he] can't explain now." Miller's "experience and misfortune are part of the great story of these days" and the conclusion of the war will reveal "the pattern of the whole affair."
