Ching, Some D.
Two pieces of this letter were sliced out by the censor. He says that "our leading units" captured only a few Japanese troops, with the rest killed or committing suicide rather than be captured. He says Dorothy Thompson [newspaper columnist] doesn't understand that Japanese troops do not surrender en masse. "The Yanks don't die for Franklin [Roosevelt] because we have many staunch Republicans here."
