Chandler, John A.
Chandler is out of ink, using a pencil. Since servicemen "can't say all they would like to," a "good bull session" ought to occur "after all this is over." He complains about the "New Marine Corps" where recruits "are being rated right out of basic training," but adds that "Leathernecks" (Marines) are happy when "beefing" (complaining), so "watch out" when they are not. He tells a mosquito joke and says they are getting more fresh food.
