Allard writes at length about the effect the Aztec News Letter has on him, both for nostalgia and for the "warm feeling" he gets when reading it. The "unity of cause" he sees described around him becomes a "unity of action" as he thinks about "the boys" from San Diego State College who are stationed in far-flung places never heard of two years before.
