Sanford, Lloyd Nelson
Sanford sends Al Flaven's address for the Aztec Service Men's News Letter. Flaven, stationed on Treasure Island, San Francisco, California, casually walked into Flaven's office in Alaska "as if he did the same every day," and Flaven took leave and spent "the remainder of his stay" with him. At this time, The United States Naval Operating Base encompassed the entirety of Amaknak island, the site of the Battle of Dutch Harbor.
