Sage, William Earle
Sage is about to graduate as a "looey" (lieutenant) and move to the Naval Air Station at Miami, but he and others from San Diego State College are still at Kingsville, Texas. Jim Parks and Bob Bauder are training as dive bombers, while he is in the fighter squadron. All are entering the Marine Corps but meanwhile are quartered "dangerously near the dive bomber field." Sage was killed in action during the war.
