Russell, Robert F.
Russell sets the record straight on training pilots, bombardiers, and navigators, since the common perception is that bombardiers and navigators are failed pilots. Starting with a two-week "quarantine" period of physical examination, interview, and aptitude tests, the "Board" determines each man's best placement. However, men can train in any one, two, or three of the ratings. It takes all three to blow up "Schicklgruber's [Hitler's] outhouse."
