Candidate Forbes urges donations to the United Service Organizations (USO), telling how he and two others wrote to the USO in Wilmington about Christmas dinner. In response, they got an invitation from a local family to "turkey with all the trimmings." He hopes to be a second lieutenant by the end of January. Three others from San Diego State College expect to graduate soon as well.
