Mrs. Devlin encloses $5 "instead of the one" dollar suggested by Lauren Post to support the soldier's newsletter. She writes for herself and her husband when she says that it "should receive backing from all of [San Diego] State's friends." Both Mrs. Devlin's husband and son are in the United States military service, her son Lawrence R. (often called Larry Jr.) an alumnus of San Diego State College.
