At Army Air Force Glider School, Chamberlain misses college and asks to be remembered to "Doc" Osborn and Charles E. Peterson. As a glider pilot, he expects to be flying soon, not having done so "due to limited facilities." They live in tents and eat out of mess kits, but he reminds himself that it could be much worse. Chamberlain was killed in action March 24, 1945.
