Photographic papers: Dops

The Glendale location was the original of the Forest Lawn group of cemetaries in Southern California, founded in 1906. This Real Photo Post Card was created by a process in which any photographer could take a "snapshot," deliver the negative to a photo developer and have it printed on a postcard backing. The special papers used for this process are indexed by brand and date, and the Dops papers used for this photograph were issued from 1925-1942, according to the letters bordering the stampbox on the back. Although no publisher is given, there is a number preceding the title: 544.
