The Glendale Sanitarium was founded in 1905 and eventually became the Glendale Adventist Medical Center. The divided back of this postcard has a faded message "with the Compliments of the Glendale Sanitarium, Glendale, Calif.," stating that it is "a true health resort" that lies "twenty minutes' ride by electric car from the heart of Los Angeles." Viewers may "apply for Illustrated Souvenir D." The publisher operated from 1908-1921.
