A steamship ferry is at the Steamer Pier in Avalon Bay. On the other side of Avalon Canyon the stagecoach road cuts across mountains. Sugar Loaf Rock defines the northwest edge of Avalon Bay, jutting out into the Pacfic Ocean toward the right. The publisher, in business from the late 1890s to 1921, has placed his record number on the divided back, 522.
