[Curt Teich & Co., Inc., Chicago, Illinois]
The steamship Cabrillo is departing Avalon Bay. Clearly visible on the hill on the right is the Holly Hill House, built by Peter Gano in 1890. Seemingly above the house, close to the horizon, is Sugar Loaf Point, with Sugar Loaf Rock jutting out into the ocean as the farthest bondary of Avalon Bay to the northwest. Upside down in the stampbox on the back is the number 32264, a favorite place for Curt Teich to put his early numbers. According to the guide provided by the Curt Teich Postcard Archives, this number translates to 1913. The publisher's number on the back is 3309. The card was made in Germany
