The beach on the left is called Pebble Beach. Angel's Flight was a "mountain railway" or "incline railway" that carried passengers from Pebble Beach to the top of the hill for the view and an inn there. At the top of the mountain there was another car that carried passengers back and forth from the mountaintop to the Avalon Amphitheater on the other side. It was constructed in 1904 and was in use from 1904 to 1918, and from 1921 to 1923. The publisher's' number on the back of this card is 45886. Also on the back at the right bottom is 52960. Though unacknowledged, this is a number belonging to printer, producer, creator Curt Teich and denotes the year 1914. The card was made in Germany.
