A glass-bottom boat (a paddlewheeler) waits while passengers are rowed to Moonstone Beach to look for moonstones and other interesting objects. Moonstone Beach was northwest of Avalon Bay, where the steamship ferries put in. This card was produced soon enough after the ban on divided postcard backs was lifted that there is still space for writing left on the picture side, and the left side of the back was reserved for a return address only. This would place the date of manufacture close to 1907. The publisher's number on the back is 3280.
