This is an artist's conception of a view of the seafloor around Santa Catalina Island from a glass-bottom boat. The flag and motto on the back, PC-001-110B, indicate that this postcard was part of a promotional campaign by the Wilmington Transportation Company, which ferried passengers to and from Catalina. Submarine gardens was the term preferred by the promoters for the aquatic flora and fauna seen from glass-bottom boats. Although the word copyrighted appears at the right lower edge of the illustration, no copyright owner is given.
