John Gilbert's Spanish home in Beverly Hills, California, 1928

The homes of Hollywood movie stars have traditionally been the subjects of postcards. In this case the actor was John Gilbert (1897-1936), known as "The Great Lover" of silent films. Although there is no attribution, there is a number in the right lower corner, a typical place and style for a number belonging to publisher, printer and creator Curt Teich. According to the Curt Teich Postcard Archives, 121861 represents the year 1928. The publisher's number is at the top with the title (871).
