Boating at Corona Del-Mar. Where the Bay and Ocean Meet. Balboa, California

Part of the printing on this postcard boasts that the pictured area is "Where the Bay and Ocean Meet." The Balboa Peninsula is a portion of Newport Beach in Orange County, California, just south of Los Angeles along Highway 1. The peninsula shelters Balboa Island, Linda Island, and Harbor Island, and the whole area is sometimes known just as "Balboa." This double-wide card must have folded over with the picture on the inside for mailing, and it is unusual in its length. The entire length of the back of the card not dedicated to the address and postage is available for the message, and in this case is filled with handwriting. (See PC-001-003B.) The publisher's number is on the left at the bottom of the picture, 637.
