Students watch and play five different chess games in progress outside Love Library. One unidentified student in particular is standing and playing more than one of the games in each of 24 photographs in this series.
Jim Macki plays five different chess games at a long table outside Love Library. In a page-one story with a photograph, the Daily Aztec of October 31 reports that "Macki and his friends were trying to spur interest in forming a new chess club on campus." The players and onlookers are unidentified.
