Noko (silver chloride paper)
This black-and-white Real Photo Post Card (RPPC) was created in 1915 at the San Diego Panama-California Exposition of 1915 in Balboa Park. RPPCs allowed a photographer to take a "snapshot," and have it developed by a photo finishing shop on the backs of postcards to be sent out. Aside from the California State buildings at the western end of El Prado, buildings representing states or counties were erected for exhibits along an esplanade south of the Plaza de Panama. Five buildings, among them the San Joaquin Counties buildng, held exhibits for 28 of the 58 California counties. This building was eventually demolished.
