This black-and-white picture postcard shows the original building and expansion constructed for the San Diego Normal School from 1898-1910 (original portion centered here dedicated 1899). This building, designed by Irving Gill (1870-1936), continued to be used as the school changed its name to the State Teachers' College, until the Montezuma Mesa location was occupied in 1931. The view here is almost the same as on PC-000-979 in this collection, as well as in PC-000-987.
