Picture postcard of Scripps Cottage at San Diego State College, San Diego, California
The Scripps Cottage was the first new building built on the Montezuma Mesa campus of San Diego State Teacher's College after its dedicaton in 1931. Made possible by a donation by Ellen Browning Scripps, the cottage was opened in September 1931 for use by the Associated Women Students organization as a lounge, library, and meeting place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. While Love Library was being planned for the space occupied by Scripps Cottage, the Cottage was moved in 1968 to Scripps Terrace. This appears to be the pre-1968 position.
