The San Diego Naval Hospital started construction in 1922 after a tent dispensary was established in 1914. More land was deeded to the Navy in subsequent years, and finally a new Naval Medical Center in Florida Canyon, east of this site, was dedicated in 1988. The publisher went into business in 1969, and the publisher's number on the back is C23791. Also shown are State Route 163 on the left and the southern park boundary.
