The San Diego Naval Hospital started construction in 1922 after a tent dispensary was established in 1914. More land was deeded to the Navy in subsequent years, and finally a new Naval Medical Center east of this one was dedicated in 1988. This hand-tinted photographic reproduction differs only in some coloring from PC-000-917 in this collection, by a different publisher. The Curt Teich number on the back is A-98791.
