Administration building, U. S. Naval Hospital, San Diego

 

 

 

 

The San Diego Naval Hospital started construction in 1922 after a tent dispensary was established in 1914 in Balboa Park. More land was deeded to the Navy in subsequent years, and finally a new Naval Medical Center in Florida Canyon, Balboa Park, was dedicated in 1988. This administration building was saved when the rest of the buildings were demolished. The number 48855 is in the bottom right margin.
