The building of the Hotel Embassy in this split picture postcard has been isolated from its surroundings, but it looks exactly like a photograph in the collection of the San Diego History Center from 1938 (#8275). From 1943 to 1945 the hotel was occupied by the US Navy as part of the war effort, given over to quarters for nurses working at the Naval Hospital in Balboa Park. The Curt Teich number on this split picture postcard is 0A3296, decoded to 1930 with a sequential number.
