In this aerial view on a hand-tinted postcard, two of San Diego's most famous hotels can be distinguished: the U. S. Grant Hotel (later The US Grant) just to the left and down from the center, with the Horton Plaza across from it to its right, and the El Cortez Hotel in the upper left corner. The U. S. Grand Hotel and the Horton Plaza face onto Broadway, so that is the street angling down from the top right just to the right of the period in "Calif." to the lower left past red buildings and traffic. Broadway runs east and west. There is a number in the stampbox that might be a publisher number, 80017.
