EKC photo paper
This is a Real Photo Post Card (RPPC) of Broadway just west of Sixth Avenue, looking west toward San Diego Bay. On the right, the tall building is the San Diego Trust & Savings Bank building, built in 1928 and eventually converted to the Courtyard Marriott Downtown San Diego. The building on the immediate right, looking like the one from which the photograph was taken, is the Torbati Building at 625 Broadway on the corner of Sixth Avenue, built by John D. Spreckels (1853-1926) in 1926 (renovated 2004). Streetcars and tracks can be seen. This type of EKC photo paper was made from 1930 to 1950, thus confining the date range of the postcard.
