E. C. Kropp Co., Milwaukee, Wisconsin, US
This view looks east on Broadway toward Sixth Avenue. The building visible at the end of the street on the left is the old San Diego Trust & Savings building, later the Courtyard Marriott San Diego Downtown. Two sets of radio towers can be seen between the bowlng alley and the Trust & Savings Building, one belonging to the nearer Pickwick Hotel (installed 1928), and the other to the farther U. S. Grant Hotel (installed 1926). If the streetcars are Class 1 types, this hand-tinted photograph cannot have been taken later than 1939. It ia also a linen postcard, which were inaugurated around 1930. The San Diego Hotel can be seen on the right, designed by Harrison Albright (1866-1932) and built in 1914.
