The message portion of this hand-colored picture postcard bears a seal of the Panama-California Exposition of 1915, but D Street was renamed "Broadway" in 1913. Thearle Music Co. (blue sign close to street level on the right, founded in 1903, was at 640 Broadway, not an address found to be associated with the YWCA (Young Women's Christian Association), as the lettering on the building on the right displays. However, before the Association had its first permanent quarters in 1927, it had opened a cafeteria, an employment bureau, and a traveler's aid bureau. The back of the card bears a seal of the Panama-California Exposition of 1915.
