Color postcard of the First Presbyterian Church on Date Street in San Diego
First Presbyterian Church
This is a black-and-white postcard with what appears to be a photograph of a church in the Gothic style with a tower and stained glass windows. The reverse of the card is printed with the location and attendance of the church, with the number of rooms (57), the fact that the physical plant covers "most of a city block," and the message "I worshipped here today." It also gives the name of the pastor, Rev. Thomas Law Coyle, D.D., who had held this title since February of 1940. The first service in this building was held on July 6, 1913, before the sanctuary was completed.
