Picture postcard of interior of Greenwood Mausoleum in Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary, San Diego
Hopkins News Agency, San Diego, California, US
This picture postcard of the Corridor of Faith in the Greenwood Mausoleum shows an interior of one of three mausoleums that in 2013 are on the 125 acres devoted to this cemetary and mortuary five miles east of downtown San Diego. This particular room is stated on the reverse of the card to have walls of "Italian Travertine marble." The Greenwood Memorial Park and mortuary was established in 1907. The son of President Ulysses S. Grant, Ulysses S. "Buck" Grant, Jr. (1852-1929), who developed The US Grant hotel, is buried there. Since the address of the Mike Robert Studio on the back has a single-digit postal code, this card must have been produced before 1963, when ZIP codes came into use in the United States. The publisher's number on the back is C1607.
