Curt Teich
On the back of this picture postcard of the First Episcopalian Church in San Diego are two seals from the Panama-California Exposition of 1915, helping to date this item. A paragraph at the bottom of the message area mentions 300 "San Diego views," each of which is available for a penny from Eno & Matteson, San Diego. This church was built in 1887 by the first Protestant congregation (1868) in San Diego. It was sold in 1947 with the right to retain use of the structure for another year while the St. Paul's Cathedral in San Diego was built. (The new cathedral was not ready for use until 1951 and the site continued to be under construction.) The Curt Teich number on the back of this card is A-8826.
