This postcard has cartoons in sepiatone on both sides. On this address side, there are a cartoon of a pie with two chickens, and a partial menu in the message section. The 2013 San Diego Chicken Pie Shop has a plaque listing their start date as 1938, but in this year the shop is at 3633 El Cajon Boulevard, not 1236 Fifth Avenue, San Diego, and it is the only shop remaining of the chain. In 1948 the price of a "Pie Dinner" was 50 cents, and that is the price quoted here.
