This postcard has cartoons in sepiatone on both sides. On the image side, there are two views of Chicken Pie Shops, one at the San Diego address on Fifth Avenue, and the other in Oceanside, the "No. 3 shop" on North Hill Street. The 2013 San Diego Chicken Pie Shop has a plaque listing their start date as 1938, but in this year the shop is at 3633 El Cajon Boulevard, not 1236 Fifth Avenue, San Diego, and it is the only shop remaining of the chain. In 1948 the price of a "Pie Dinner" was 50 cents, and that is the price on the reverse of this card.
