C.T. Art-Colortone (Curt Teich), Chicago, Illinois, US
The Cotton Patch restaurant opened in 1947, described as a "steak house" in a 2008 story in the San Diego Union Tribune mentioning the then closed establishment. This picture postcard advertises its "charcoal broiler in" the "Dining Room," the "Bayou Cocktail Room," the "Sea Food Bar," and the appearance of "Janie Erickson Nightly at the Hammond Organ" on the address side of the card. Fred Halleman, whose name is in the restaurant name on the card, bought property next door in 1967 and opened the first Boll Weevil restaurant that turned into a chain owned by Halleman, bankrupted in 2008. The Curt Teich number in the stampbox on the back of this picture postcard is 1C-H379, decoding to the year 1951.
