This postcard invites the recipient, including "family and friends," to the opening of the galleries of the San Diego Men's Art Institute in the House of Charm, Balboa Park. At the top of the card is a reproduction of a drawing of a San Diego cityscape beginning on the left with Balboa Park and the dome of the California Building, next to the California Tower, moving to downtown San Diego in the center, and showing San Diego Bay and Coronado Island, with a ship in the Bay. The House of Charm, like the California Building and the California Tower, was built for the Panama-California Exposition of 1915. In 1954, the year of the postmark on the reverse of this card, the building housed the San Diego Men's Art Institute in its east half.
