This picture postcard from the "Animal Color Series from the San Diego Zoo" identifies the type of animals in the picture section as "Reticulated giraffe." It also describes the bus with the green front and green-striped roof as a "San Diego Zoo tour bus, making one of its brief stops along a 45 minute guided tour of the zoo." Three giraffes stand well away from the moat of their enclosure as the tour bus pulls up behind visitors already at the fence along the sidewalk. The publisher number is Z.35, and the Curt Teich number in the stampbox is D-17267, decoding to the year 1971.
