A reticulated giraffe appears to be browsing on a tree branch at the San Diego Zoo
Kodachrome by G. E. Kirkpatrick
According to the printing in the message section on the reverse of the image on this picture postcard, this is part of an "Animal Color Series from the San Diego Zoo." It identifies the animal as a "Reticulated Giraffe, Africa." The giraffe appears to be browsing on tree branches near the fence of its enclosure. It is standing on level ground, in profile, turning its head toward the camera. Reticulated or Somali giraffes constitute a subspecies of giraffe that have their wild range in Eastern Africa.
