Front of the Botanical Building and Lily Pond, Balboa Park, San Diego, California
The Botanical Building ("Lath House") and lagoon (Reflecting Pool, Laguna de Espejo, Laguna de las Flores, later Lily Pond), also known as the south pond because there is a north pond near the entrance. The building was designed by the architectual firm of Bertram Goodhue (1869-1924) for the Panama-California Exposition of 1915 and houses a conservatory open to the weather through its redwood lath roof.
