Built for the California Pacific International Exposition of 1935, the open-air Ford Bowl is known in the 21st century as the Starlight Bowl, home to the Starlight Theatre. It sits next to the Ford Building, also constructed for the 1935 Exposition, and in the background ib the left toward the top in this picture the San Diego Naval Hospital can be seen. Although most of that hospital was demolished, the chapel was saved to become the Veterans Museum and Memorial Center.
