View Looking East from Cabrillo Bridge into Balboa Park, with California Tower in Background
Eooy
Looking east along El Prado street from Puente Cabrillo (Cabrillo Bridge), all structures were built for the Panama-California Exposition of 1915. The California Tower, designed by Bertram Goodhue (1869-1924) and later called the tower of the Palace of Science, is in the left background, and the entrance arch between the trees straight along the road. The bridge designers were Frank Phillips Allen, Jr. (1881-1943), and Thomas B. Hunter, with construction and opening in 1914. The Panama-California International Exposition was held in San Diego's Balboa Park, of which this is the western entrance.
