Spreckels Organ Pavilion in San Diego's Balboa Park
John D. (1853-1926) and Adolph B. Spreckels (1857-1924) donated the Spreckels pipe organ to the City of San Diego in 1914 for the Panama-California Exposition of 1915. The Exposition was held in San Diego's Balboa Park to celebrate the completion of the Panama Canal. Designed by Frank P. Allen, Jr. (1881-1943), the San Joaquin Valley Counties Building, on the far left toward the bottom, limits the possible dates on which the photograph was taken, since it was razed in 1933.
