[Curt Teich and Company, Incorporated, Chicago, Illinois]
The Lily Pond of the Botanical Gardens was built for the Panama-California International Exposition of 1915-1916, then known as the "Lagoon" (Laguna de las Floras, Laguna de Espejo, or Reflecting Pool). The Palace of Better Housing on the other side of the lagoon was also built for the 1915 Exposition as the Commerce and Industries Building, later the Canadian Building, Electric Building, and eventually reconstructed as the Casa de Balboa. The publisher's number 4413 is in the upper left white border. The Teich number in the lower right border is 5A-H447, from which the date was derived. This is a linen card produced as part of a series for the California Pacific International Exposition of 1935.
